Chinese Egg Roll | 鸡蛋卷

Only 3 ingredients: pork, prawn and egg + salt to make this super delicious Chinese Egg Roll. The prawn and pork combination brings out the natural sweetness and savoury taste in the egg rolls. The eggs are also cooked to perfection which makes really juicy chinese egg rolls. This chinese egg roll recipe is an easy recipe that can be cooked any day of the week!

Top tips:

  1. If you want juicy egg rolls, fry the eggs up to about 95% cooked, then start to use the spatula to flip it into egg rolls
  2. You can adjust the heat of the work to medium if it gets too hot while frying the egg rolls! Careful, the oil do splatter!
  3. You can use more prawns in the recipe to get sweeter tasting egg rolls
  4. Small to medium size prawns is sufficient


  • Pork shoulder 150 grams 梅花肉 150克 (you can buy ready minced pork shoulder, 可以买剁碎的肉)
  • Prawns 120 grams 虾 120克
  • 5 Eggs 鸡蛋 5个
  • Salt to taste, approximately 1 teaspoon 盐, 1茶匙


Step 1: Pre-fry the pork and prawns

  1. Wash prawns, remove the prawn head, shells and digestive tract.
  2. Mince pork shoulder and prawns together. Add in 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix well.
  3. Pre fry the minced pork and prawns
  4. Fry at high heat until golden brown
  5. Remove the pre fried meat from wok and set aside

Step 2: Fry the egg rolls

  1. Beat 5 eggs
  2. Add in the pre fried meat into the beaten eggs.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt (or salt to taste). Mix well. Set aside
  4. Heat up wok at high heat
  5. Use a ladle or spoon to scoop up a spoonful of the egg and meat mixture
  6. Place in the wok and fry each individual egg roll separately
